Take a Fall Foliage Road Trip

Late October through early November is considered the peak period for fall foliage in our area, and we have a number of stunning spots for taking in the view. The SC Department of Parks, Recreation, & Tourism posts weekly color updates on its website (click here to view) so you can time your leaf looking for optimal brilliance.

The website Only In Your State has put together a couple of road trips that take in some of the best views around.

  • The first starts at South Cove County Park in Seneca and heads toward the Cashiers area. Click here for details.
  • The second road trip is longer, ending in Gaffney and incorporating Cowpens National Battlefield, Landrum, Pretty Place, and other sites. Click here for details.

If you prefer to take in the views on foot, several state parks in our area offer hiking trails sure to offer vibrant hues this time of year. Click here to view Visit Oconee's informative list of local trails.

However you choose to see it, enjoy the natural autumn beauty of our area.
